Ratios and Percentages

Ratios, rates, percentage and proportions represent relationships between two or more quantities, each being a slightly different representation of numbers or variables. In AMC 8 exams, ratios compare quantities in scaling or geometric problems, while proportions solve relationships like maps or similar triangles. Percentages involve questions with calculations for discounts, profit/loss, increases, or fractional comparisons. Rates appear in problems on travel, speed, work, or unit conversions.
