Chemical Equations

Chemical equations are used to describe both chemical and physical changes. Chemical equations have reactants on the left side, which turn (or react!) into products, which are on the right side. Both the reactants and products will have their states of matter listed, which can either be liquid (l), solid (s), gaseous (g), or aqueous, meaning dissolved in water (aq). Note that sometimes, the states are not listed just for simplicity.
