Computing innovations are developed to solve problems and improve efficiency, but they can also introduce unintended consequences, such as bias. Computing bias occurs when human prejudices, whether intentional or unintentional, are embedded into technology. These biases can arise from the data used, the design of algorithms, or the decision-making processes in software development. If left unchecked, computing bias can lead to unfair outcomes that disproportionately affect certain groups of people.
