AP® Research
AP Research is the second course in the AP Capstone™ program from the College Board and builds directly on the skills developed in AP Seminar. In this course, students design, plan, and conduct an independent research project on a topic of personal interest. Through sustained inquiry, they apply advanced research methods to collect, analyze, and interpret information with accuracy and precision. AP Research cultivates students’ abilities to think critically, synthesize information from multiple perspectives, and produce and defend a scholarly academic paper and presentation. The course empowers students to engage deeply with a topic that matters to them while refining their skills in disciplined inquiry, communication, and evidence-based argumentation—skills essential for success in college and beyond.
