Transatlantic Trade
The trans-Atlantic trade between Europe and the Americas was a key feature of the early modern period, shaping the economies, societies, and cultures of both continents. This trade, commonly referred to as the triangular trade, involved three major regions: Europe, Africa, and the American colonies. Each leg of the triangle carried different goods and created interconnected systems that enriched European nations, helped establish a mercantilist economy, and fueled the exchange of ideas, crops, and people.
