What are Units?

Units are standardized quantities used to measure physical properties like length, mass, time, temperature, and more. They provide a way to express physical quantities in a consistent and comparable manner. The most commonly used units in physics are the SI units. The base SI Units for physical quantities are:

  • Length: Meter (m)
  • Mass: Kilograms (kg)
  • Time: Seconds (s)
  • Electric Current: Ampere (A)
  • Temperature: Kelvin (K)
  • Amount of Substance: Mole (mol)
  • Luminous Intensity: Candela (cd)
