Membrane Transport

The selective permeability of membranes allows cells to maintain concentration gradients essential for various biological processes, while the mechanisms of exocytosis and endocytosis enable the transport of large molecules across the plasma membrane. These processes are critical for cellular function, ensuring the import of necessary macromolecules and the export of waste products and signaling molecules.
