Changes in Signal Transduction Pathways

Signal transduction pathways rely on a precise sequence of events in which signaling molecules, such as ligands and receptors, interact to produce cellular responses. Any alteration in the structure of the signaling molecules involved—whether it's the ligand, the receptor, or other components of the pathway—can have significant effects on the activity of the pathway and the resulting cellular response.
