Deviations from Mendel’s Model of Inheritance

Mendel's classical laws of inheritance were groundbreaking in their simplicity, but as genetics advanced, it became clear that many traits do not follow his laws perfectly. Deviations from Mendelian inheritance patterns occur when multiple genes, environmental factors, or unique genetic phenomena influence the inheritance of traits. These deviations have broadened our understanding of how genetic information is passed from one generation to the next and have helped refine genetic theories.
