The Importance of Energy in Biological Systems

Living systems rely on a constant input of energy and the exchange of macromolecules to maintain their intricate organization. Energy is the foundation of life, essential for maintaining structure, supporting growth, and enabling reproduction. Without a steady energy supply, living organisms would not be able to sustain their complex biochemical processes or adapt to environmental changes. Over time, diverse strategies have evolved among organisms to efficiently acquire, store, and utilize energy, ensuring survival and reproductive success.
