The Ideal Gas Model

In an ideal gas, the velocities of all of the particles are random. The volumes of each of the individual particles themselves are considered to be negligible compared to the volume of the gas itself. Also, the atoms exert no forces on each other except those when the atoms collide. When the atoms collide, the collisions are elastic, meaning that no energy is lost.
