The Role of Energy in Living Organisms

Energy is fundamental to all living organisms, serving as the driving force for maintaining order, supporting cellular processes, and enabling life to persist. Living systems require a constant input of energy to fuel biological functions, such as growth, reproduction, and maintenance of cellular organization. Without this energy input, organisms cannot counteract the natural tendency toward disorder, as described by the second law of thermodynamics.
