What Is a Supply Chain?

A supply chain is the system that moves a product or service from idea to customer. It includes the people, resources, and activities involved in everything from sourcing raw materials to delivering the final good or service. While both goods and services use supply chains, they often look very different. A good like a pair of shoes may pass through multiple factories and warehouses, while a service like hairdressing relies more on people and tools in a single location.
